An elderly woman has reportedly been murdered
after being attacked to death with sharp weapons in the Ulapane area of Athgala.
Police stated that the murder had been committed last morning (7).
The deceased is a 78-year-old resident of the Ulapane area.
The murdered woman was living in the same house with her grandson, his wife and two children.
The police investigations have revealed that the murder was committed over a family dispute by the grandson’s wife.
It was later revealed that the grandson was not at home at that time.
The 32-year-old woman who committed the murder has been arrested and Athgala Police are conducting further investigations related to the incident.
