Namal urges voters to back SLPP despite past grievances, pledges to re-correct mistakes

The Presidential candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP),

Namal Rajapaksa urged the voters to back SLPP despite past grievances, pledging to re-correct the earlier mistakes of the party.

Addressing a gathering held in Walapane, Rajapaksa claimed that only the SLPP is capable of modernizing and strengthening the government sector.

“If anyone is considering joining another party or voting for another candidate due to past grievances, I invite you to rejoin our party. I acknowledge that we made mistakes in the past. Let’s work together to correct them.”

Speaking at the event, the SLPP presidential candidate said: “Today, some leaders reiterate that they have eliminated queues, but the issue of passport queues remains unresolved. They talk about tourism but have yet to address the issue regarding visa issuance. These systems need to be modernized.”

“The government sector can only be modernized by a political force with a vision and the capability to bring about change, and that force is the SLPP,” he added.
